An event supported by Microbiota 2009

Context

Since the last years scientists have realized the scale and diversity of the microbial population that live in the human body. The number of hosted microbes is considered to be 10 times more than the total number of human cells. This major progress on microbiota knowledge has been made possible by the development of new genomic technologies and especially high throughput culture independant detection methods.

Today, a significant number of results have been published on the microbial population of the gut. Today other body niches are being progressively explored like oral cavity, vagina and skin; and updated information will be given during MICROBIOTA. As many lines of evidence suggest a role for both commensal and transient microbes in the status of human health as well as for the risk of contracting certain diseases, this event will be definitively key for the cosmetic, personal care, the nutraceutical and the pharmaceutical sectors.

The aim of this event

During 2 days, key conferences will provide the participant with an overview of the research in the characterization of human microbe population and to address potential of this approach to develop new products with health benefits in different sectors: cosmetic, personal care, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical.

Then MICROBIOTA will bring the last updated information on human microbiome research and on the experimental and computational approaches that are being, and need to be, deployed to comprehensively characterize our microflora to propose strategies that may be useful for its deliberate manipulation and preservation.

Why MICROBIOTA is an event you can’t miss:

  • For its concrete strategical solutions it will deliver during top-level conferences on the latest discoveries, developments and research,
  • Its highly qualified networking and business opportunities offered during the 2 days, bringing together academic experts and industrial leaders (CEO, R&D Managers, etc.).

This will be definitly the best opportunity to network and learn how to get involved in cosmetic, personal care, nutraceutical & pharmaceutical sectors.
